excellent local airport, which you are recommended to use.

Rail services connect Bristol both north and south and there are regular direct trains to London. There are two stations in Bristol, and Temple Meads is preferable for our venue (20 mins by bus). Please click here for more info.
Click here to learn more about ticket prices and to query the national rail timetable. Or click here to use an online booking service. Alternatively ring 08457 484950 to get train times and numbers for specific rail operators. The further ahead you book your ticket the cheaper it will be.
By air
Apart from the major airports at London Heathrow and Gatwick, followed by connecting coaches or trains, you may find a cheap flight to Bristol's own local airport, just 13km south of the city. For more info click here.
There is an airport bus to/from the bus & rail station for £7 return, taking 30 minutes.
Taxis from the airport to the University take 25 minutes & cost around £18 (and it is usual
too to give £2 to the driver as a tip). Airportcarz operate to and from Bristol Airport. Travellers are
particularly advised to use this firm, which is reliable and licensed to
trade from the airport. Airportcarz state the price of the fare when the
booking is made. New arrivals should turn left and Airportcarz' temporary
office is outside the airport, twenty yards along. Payment may be made in
advance by credit card to the office, or cash to the driver. A small tip
(£2-3) to the driver on completion of the journey is customary.
