The conference proceeds have now been published as an ASA monograph No. 44.
During the conference there was an exhibition displaying the work of the AHRB-funded project, Learning is Understanding in Practice: Exploring the Interrelations between Perception, Creativity and Skill. The project was carried out in collaboration between the Department of Anthropology at the University of Aberdeen and the Department of Fine Art at the University of Dundee, from June 2002 to September 2005. The exhibition, entitled Fieldnotes and Sketchbooks: Challenging the boundaries between descriptions and processes of describing, was held in Aberdeen City Art Gallery. Exhibitors included: James Hugonin, David Nash, Simon Unwin, Alan Johnston, Norman Shaw, Elizabeth Hallam, Tim Ingold, Ray Lucas, Stephanie Bunn, Oren Lieberman, Susanne Küchler, Arthur Watson.
