Annals of the ASA

Until about 2008, the ASA printed a set of Annals every year, including an introduction to the ASA, updates, conference news, committee reports and accounts, as well as reports from university Anthropology departments. Once the ASA went online, most of this information was available on the website.

While departments produce information on their own websites, there was no longer any central point for information about departments, and nowhere to catch up more informally on departmental news. The ASA has therefore revived the departmental news under the heading of Annals here.

Please note that these pages offer a summary of news or events at each department, and a link to the department homepage for more formal or institutional information – it does not replace or replicate departmental homepages themselves (please follow the links for these).

We hope these ‘Departmental Reports’ help to give more of an insider flavour of what’s happening in UK University Anthropology departments, and in departments where Social Anthropology is taught. The pages will be updated on an annual basis.
