The evening will feature musical curation inspired by Birmingham’s migrant history as well as the Levantine focus of the catering. After the meal, the music will intensify into a dance party for the rest of the night. The catering is supplied by Damascena, Taking its name from the ‘Damascus Rose’, Damascena offers an authentic Middle Eastern taste: the menu will feature a variety of mezze, flatbreads and salads.

All participants - panel convenors, authors, chairs, discussants, organisers, keynotes, plenary speakers, guests, volunteers, committee members and those without any specific role - MUST register in advance of the event.

What are you paying for?

ASA prioritises the attendance of precarious scholars using the full price fees to subsidise the low-income registration fee, and also through funding travel and accommodation of eligible students through the call for funding.

Funding

The call for funding closed on 20 February, applicants received notification of outcome in early March. Sadly there is no further funding left to allocate in the form of travel/accommodation support, or registration fee waiver.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellations more than three weeks before the conference (18 March) will be refunded, less a fee of £70 to cover administrative costs. Cancellations after that point will not be offered a full refund, due to costs already incurred. This also applies to change of format refund of difference (f2f/online). Refunds at that point will be discretionary.

If you are unhappy with the service you are provided as a delegate, you have the right to request a refund. Each request will be considered on its merits, and in line with The Consumer Rights Act 2015, and where appropriate a full refund will be given. Refunds should be requested by email to conference(at)theasa.org. If you receive no response to that email address, then our postal address is ASA, c/o RAI, 50 Fitzroy St, London, W1T 5BT, UK.
